Matchbox Celebrates 70 Years with Special Edition Models
Anniversary Mix Features Limited-Edition Vehicles and Exclusive Nissan NISMO
70th Anniversary Vehicles Commemorate a Legacy of Die-Cast Adventure
In 2023, Matchbox celebrated its 70th anniversary with a special edition mix of vehicles and a boxed set that included an exclusive Nissan NISMO GT-R R35. The second mix of the Collectors Series 622 to 1222 featured seven Special Edition models adorned with the 70th anniversary deco and logos. These models were also available in a boxed set in the summer of 2023.
The 2023 Matchbox line-up includes five Sub-series: MBX Metro, MBX Highway, MBX Off-Road, MBX Showroom, and the special MBX 70 Years Edition. The McLaren 720S in lime green/yellow was a highlight of Mix 6, while the Moving Parts Series expanded to 54 models, all made with recycled zinc and produced in Thailand.
To celebrate the anniversary, Matchbox also released a special Germany Series 2023 featuring twelve German brand models. The Matchbox Sky Busters 2023 Mix 4 Vehicles included various themed mixes, and the Matchbox Car Collection 2023 Mixes 1, 6, 7, and 10 were highly sought after by collectors.
